Pride swells my bosom

I am made up! I just discovered that I have been awarded 1st place in my exams last summer. It has taken the authorities 6 months to tell me this, but better late than never, eh?
Last year, this success would have come with a pleasantly robust cheque and I thought (yes!!) that I might be receiving the same this year, but they appear to have changed the rules and a relatively paltry sum was enclosed.
I wonder if I will be the beneficiary of the the same ceremony that they had last year, complete with the wearing of gowns and the presentation of certificates. Maybe that has also been done away with. After all, the University has to cut back somewhere, as they have to raise money for their newest project- the Gateway design competition.
Incidentally, pride had better not swell my bosom, as I have enough problems in that area already. Or my head.
But...whooo-ee, I'm pleased with myself (even though I do think it undeserved)!
